BYE, BYE, CHRISTMAS.......

Hello!  All Shiny and New......

After spending a lovely few days celebrating the new year with family and friends out in the Hamptons, as much as I hated to leave, it was time to come home and get to work undecorating.  It is always so much more fun decorating for Christmas, but I must admit, I love the feeling of taking it all down, neatly packing it all away in their big plastic bins, and tucking them neatly downstairs until Christmas comes around again.

When everything was neatly packed away, the vacuuming and dusting completed, it was time to put my new favorite thing to the test..... the Shark Steam Mop!  Have you seen this?  I couldn't wait to see how it worked on the hardwood floors!
It passed the test!  My floors are squeaky clean and looking all shiny and new again~ I am on a steam clean craze..... watch out everyone I'm on a roll.......

your home looks GREAT! I love how your furniture is arranged.

I've heard of that--glad you like it-i might have to go get one for my hardwood floors. I still do them by hand on my knees with Murphy's oil soap.

I feel the same way about after-the-holidays clean up. I like starting the new year with a home that is squeaky clean and organized.

I've always heard good things about the Shark. Isn't it great when something lives up to its reputation!

I also love the way your furniture is arranged. I am later than normal getting my Christmas put away..in fact I am still at it. I got alot done yesterday and was gone all day, but slowly working again tonight at getting it all put away. I still have the dusting and mopping to do. I have not heard of your Shark mop.

Hi Kathleen,
We just bought the house in July, and just furnishing it was enough. Many trips to Rum Runners! Love that store! So the only Christmas decorations were candles in the windows! Wasn't the weather something New Year's Eve? It was our first night spent out there, and we had to shovel our way to the door! I plan on spending more time out there during the summer, I can't wait!

I have not heard of that tool yet! My stuff is still up too until after Epiphany. Almost here, then I will start de-decorating some each day after that.

What a beautiful room. I love the moldings and trims. Also, the bookcases are gorgeous.

I am slowly getting my house back in order and love the feeling of it being clean and less cluttered. I haven't gotten to the floors yet, however.
